GQR gas fired aluminium melting furnace: a crucible family
This gas fired aluminum melting furnace uses a crucible format.
Begin the equipment discussion with two separate requirements: how much metal the operation needs to hold, and how quickly it needs fresh molten metal. Keeping those requirements separate makes the model table useful. A larger stored quantity does not, by itself, answer the hourly supply question.

Specifications from the YOMATO GQR product catalogue:
| Model | Holding Capacity kg | Melting capacity kg/h | Outer Diameter mm | Height mm |

| GQR-100 | 100 | 40 | Φ1200 | 970 |
| GQR-150 | 150 | 60 | φ1250 | 970 |
| GQR-200 | 200 | 80 | φ1250 | 970 |
| GQR-250 | 250 | 100 | φ1330 | 1100 |
| GQR-300 | 300 | 120 | φ1330 | 1100 |
| GQR-400 | 400 | 150 | φ1330 | 1150 |
| GQR-500 | 500 | 200 | φ1510 | 1150 |
| GQR-600 | 600 | 250 | φ1510 | 1150 |
| GQ R-800 | 800 | 300 | φ1700 | 1520 |
| GQR-900 | 900 | 300 | φ1700 | 1520 |
| GQR-1000 | 1000 | 350 | φ1700 | 1520 |
Use these catalogue figures to compare models. For a production application, define the charge and operating conditions alongside the required metal supply; a table entry is not a complete production schedule.
How to read kg, kg/h and furnace dimensions
GQR-400 lists 400 kg holding capacity and 150 kg/h melting capacity. Its outer diameter is φ1330 mm and its height is 1150 mm.
- Holding capacity, kg: the listed mass of aluminum held in the furnace. Use it when discussing the metal reserve or batch requirement.
- Melting capacity, kg/h: the listed melting rate. Read this column when discussing replenishment rather than treating the holding mass as an hourly output.
- Outer diameter and height, mm: equipment dimensions. A plant layout also needs room for the chosen charging, metal-transfer and access arrangements.
Keep equipment dimensions and installed working space as separate items in a layout review. Mark the route by which material enters the furnace and molten metal leaves it, rather than treating a diameter-and-height pair as the entire installation footprint.
Gas furnace for melting aluminum: project inputs
Bring a single application brief to the quotation discussion:
- Metal and charge: the alloy designation and whether the planned feed is ingot, foundry returns or another form.
- Demand: the required holding quantity, hourly melt demand and operating pattern.
- Gas supply: the available gas specification and supply pressure.
- Utilities and layout: site electrical supply, available space and the planned exhaust arrangement.
- Metal transfer: how the molten aluminum will reach the next operation.
These inputs define the project to review. Keep the furnace package, site connections and any handling equipment clearly identified in the quotation so that their responsibilities and interfaces are understood together.

Gas furnace questions
The distinctions below help connect the model figures to the application brief.
Questions and answers
What does the GQR holding capacity mean?
Holding capacity describes the amount of aluminum held, expressed in kilograms. Use that quantity when defining the metal reserve or batch requirement. Keep it separate from the floor space needed by the furnace and its working area.
Is melting capacity the same as holding capacity?
GQ R-800 and GQR-900 both list 300 kg/h melting capacity, while their holding capacities are 800 kg and 900 kg. Equal melting rates can accompany different holding capacities.
Does gas fired mean this is an induction or rotary drum furnace?
The GQR offer described here is a gas crucible melting furnace.
How should I compare fuel consumption and operating cost?
Keep fuel use, utility prices and the amount of metal processed as separate entries. Compare the same operating period and application conditions. A holding-capacity figure or a melting-rate figure alone does not establish an operating cost.
